Galeries Lafayette / Plug & Play
You may have seen from our Twitter and Instagram feeds that for the next couple of months, we are part of a very exciting start-up incubator. The Galeries Lafayette group, based in France but one of the largest department store groups worldwide, have developed a startup incubator programme with the Plug and Play Tech Center, based in Silicon Valley, which is a global innovation platform for startups. The two have joined forces to boost the next generation of fashion and retail companies, which seems fitting given that Paris is regarded as a fashion capital, and San Francisco is undoubtedly the tech capital of the world.
“Lafayette Plug and Play is a ground-breaking innovation platform designed to boost the next generation of retail and fashion companies. It is where startups meet experts, mentors, corporations, and investors.”
Having spent some time with the P&P team in San Fran earlier this year, it’s great that we are also getting the opportunity to meet the team working in Paris. To be chosen and considered as a company with the potential to change the fashion and retail industries, is incredibly exciting for us. As a company we strive to offer innovative solutions to enhance, monetise, and make overall more engaging video content. There are already some disruptions to the retail scene and more and more brands are looking to be more digital and tech savvy.
Although we are being given some great opportunities as a part of this programme, the Galeries Lafayette may also choose to adopt some of the tech products that the startups have to offer, which makes our place within the final 10 even more intriguing.
Having officially started last month, we have already met some interesting people, but we look forward to even more of the networking and mentoring opportunities that we will experience.
We are grateful to the Galerie Lafayette group and the Plug and Play Tech Center to have been chosen as a part of this programme. We will have any exciting news or updates from our time in Paris over on our Twitter, and Instagram.
