Go to Grow: Cohort Five of The Mayor's International Business Programme
Updated: Feb 17, 2021
This morning, Miles (Head of Business Development) attended Go to Grow: Cohort Five of The Mayor’s International Business Programme in Mayfair, London.
We are delighted to announce that we have been accepted onto this new and exclusive programme. The programme is targeted at fast-growing London based companies operating in the technology, life sciences and urban sectors and provides a tailored mentoring scheme with the aim of facilitating further growth. Partners to the programme include PA - a consulting, technology and innovation firm, and London Chamber of Commerce and Industry – London’s largest independent networking and business support organisation.
Having been accepted onto the programme, Smartzer has gained access to a number of workshops, mentors and international visits in the retail and technology sectors. This opportunity will be invaluable in achieving our ambitions of further international growth and expansion into new markets, as we continue to generate revenue and customer satisfaction.
This morning, I had the opportunity to network with representatives from other member companies in Cohort Five of the programme. I enjoyed some diverse and interesting conversations, learning about the work done by the other start-ups in attendance, and also sharing the vision and successes of Smartzer.
There was then an exciting panel discussion, where I heard entrepreneurs, mentors and experts Emily Forbes (Founder, Seenit), Nena Chaletzos (CEO, Luxtripper) and Jan Quant (CEO, Screendragon) talk about company growth and the importance of international expansion, as well as sharing their own tips and advice on international growth. A number of roundtable discussions followed this panel discussion, whereupon I had the opportunity to gather expert advice from mentors and industry experts, as well as sharing and comparing business experience with other cohort company representatives. There are such a diverse range of companies in Cohort Five that this was especially interesting!
The morning was such a worthwhile experience, and I’ve already enjoyed sharing what I learnt with the rest of the Smartzer team. We are all so excited for what the remainder of The Mayor’s International Business Programme will bring for Smartzer, and are very much looking forward to working with our business mentors on our tailored programme as we continue to grow and develop our business.
Thank you to The Mayor’s International Business Programme for having us on the programme!
